Well the time has arrived, I'm about to experience Europe and different curltures, sights and experiences for the first time in my life.
Day 1 involved me saying Goodbye to Time and Joyce in London at around 8am and driving to Dover to board the Ferry over to Dunkerque France. The ferry took approx 2 hours and was really smooth and easy actually. The weather was really nice, quite hot.
Arrived in France at 3pm and had to quickly come to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road, not a natural feeling at all.
As far as the French scenery, it was nice enough, didnt get to really have a look around as i went straight onto the motorway. The northern French country side does look quite pretty though, and listening to French radio was funny at first but became increasingly annoying as I had no idea what was going on until they played a song every now and then in English.
Drove straight to Bruges (Belgium) from Dunkerque which took about an hour. The speed limit was 130 kph so that was good, and the roads were awesome.
Found my Hostel I had booked for tonight, chucked my suitcase in the room and started to Walk around. Found myself in Market Square which is the Hub i guess. It was amazing, architecture was breathtaking, all Medieval buildings, took a heap of photos of Belfry, which is the huge medieval bell tower, walked around all the canals, every spot I stopped at was like a postcard, so nice. They have heaps of chocolate shops, lace shops and nearly every pub advertising they have 100 different beers, dear oh dear, so many choices!!
Have a walking tour booked for tomorrow to get a bit more of a history lesson around town, off to the main church in town here which is said to contain a real vial of Jesus's blood.
Plan to leave Bruge mid afternoon tomorrow and head south to the capital of Belgium, Brussels, where I'll be staying for a few days. Will upload the pics I've taken when I get the chance.
Oh, bye the way, I've never been in a town with soooooo many hot chicks! This is ridiculous, I fell in love and had my heart broken 10 times already today..... and it's only day 1. Seriously, if the rest of europe is like this, I might just return married with children..........
