A small briefing on my adventure so far......
So a many of you know im guessing, i am now in Thailand. My first month in Australia went wonderful. It could not have been any better. I met some wonderful people some wonderful friends, found the perfect spot for me and started my surfing career. It was an amazing month and it was sad to have to leave, but also time to move on. so i flew out of sydney on the 16th and landed in BIG BANGKOK. it was fun having such a change alittle nerveing, but it kept me on my toes and really told me i was in a different place and deffinatly not in australia anymore. but 2 days was enough in bangkok and i knew i had to get out, so just to go somewhere i went down to phuket, where there was another little lodge owned by the same people who owned the one in bangkok. i took a night bus, it was a long 12 hours. i arrived in the town of Phuket at around 7:30 in the morning where there i said to a taxi driver Shanti Lodge hopping he knew where he was going. here i thailand there is a certin amount of trust that you have to put into you judgement and the person you choose to trust. when you ask a taxi drive if he knows a place he is going to say yes and then half way through the ride he asks where you are going and you find he speaks no english and i speak no thai so that is when the intence hand justures and pointing and talking very slow starts. but luckly this taxi driver did know where he was going, so i arrived in the shanti lodge a very cute quaint place, there was a pool and it was quiet and i felt like i was on a nice little vacation to i don't even know where but it did not feel like thailand, so once again i knew i was not ment to be there. so it was to the orignal plan, after two days there i hopped on a bus to Khoa Lak, a small town north of phuket, much more my style. Khao Lak was one of the main areas that got hit by the tsunami and expierenced some of the most deaths. i then found myself a little bunglow, it is kinda like my first appartment, it is really simple and cute i love it. khao lak its self does not consist of a whole love it is one main road with about 2 blocks of dive shops, resturants, tourist shops and some hotels. my bungalow is about 3mins from the main road and about 8 mins from the beach. the beaches are Beautiful!!! so anyway i got here go setteled and then it was to work i went up the the Tsunami volunteer center and asked if the needed volunteers and of course they did so i signed right up and i start monday. im going to be part of the housing project, where they are building houses for familys who lost them in the tsunami. im starting on monday, and im really excited to really do somthing with my time and make a little bit of a differance while im here. and that is where i am about now. tomorrow i have decide to go on a snorkeling tour out to the Similan islands to do a little somthing and see a bit more before the hard labor starts. so im headed off to do that at 7:40 tomorrow morning so that will be fun. and that is about it for now.
i hope all of you back in the US are wonderful and i am always thinking of all of you always!!! Love and miss you all tons and tons
