Thailand Overview
so here i am sitting in an internet cafe with exactly 17mins to give you all some more detail about what i have been up to for the last month. im going to start with just a desription of what i have been doing for the last about 24 hour, because as i realized when i was talking to my mom this morning what seem like a normal day here for me really is not that normal so here is an exampel.....
yesterday morning woke up and knew that i had to get stuff done that day but the motivation was just not there so i hung around my room untill about 10:30 and then forced myself to go to the internet. i spent a long time stressing and trying to find a place to stay when i got to bahrain everywhere was so expencive or i couldn't get a hold of the it just seemed not to be working out that well. i had some breakfast and then tried to take a deep breath and tell myself it will work out. then it was off to go book the ticket for a bus to bangkok i went to a small travel place and they were like you can take this bus from here for 750 bhat - about 15$ or go to the next town and get it cheaper, but i was to tired and stressed to be bothered to go to the next town so i just bought the expencive ticket. then it was some more stressing about a place to stay and then home to pack up everything. it is funny how packing is not even an issue for me it, is now completely natural. so i packed up and left to go take my stuff up to my friends house so i didn't have to walk all the way back to get it again. droped off my stuff and decided it was time to give the internet one last shot at finding me a place to stay for the next few day. i had a littel more luck and got some numbers to call and by this time it was already about 3 and time to go say bye to some people and get ready to get on my bus. i went back to say bye to people and just as i was walking out the door to head down to the bus stop it stared to rain and not just rain but pour! as i was walking i was getting soaked and a nice old thai man picked me up and took me to town. i then got on my bus at about quarter to 5 and then proceeded to try and sleep for the next 12 hours. the busses are nice but it is not the best sleep in the world. at 4:40 this moring the bus pulled up to the south bus station in good old bangkok. i caught a ride with a spanish coupel to the main tourist place Khaosan Road, where i knew i could find somewhere to sit for awhile. i just got dropped off at a random place and saw the first guest house i could walked on in without saying anything to anyone found a plug, pluged in my ipod and then watched grays anatomy on it for about the next hour. at around 6:30ish i got up and decided to walk a bit to see what i could see. and since this is the main tourist road i was on it is also the main party road, and it is bangkok, what you see at 6 in the moring is a lot of old white guys with there hookers for the night walking to the atm. and this is no joke i saw sooooooooo many guys at the ATMs with a thai girl at his side. it is a crazy world. so i sat down at a bar/resturant that was still open because there were still people drinking and decide to just hang out people watch. after a bit of that i decided it was time to ditch the backpack i went and put it in a storage room in a hotel and then sat down at another resturant and called my mom and had a cup of coffee. and now we are leading up to where i am now i have found the only hotel with a swimming pool and will soon head there for a bit and read, then around 3 go get a shuttel to the airport and fly out around 6:30 and arrive in bahrain at 10:00. and that is what you call a long day of travel. it will be nice to get to a bed!!!
ok so some more info.....
what i have been doing for the last month. i was volunteering and hanging out with friend and sitting at the pool or beach and sleeping and eating. and that is about it, but i will give you some more detail about some of it.
volunteeing was amazing. it was really hard work and hot but great. i was woking on a really good project with some really good people. being able to see progress everyday and the reaction the family had was some of the best part. it was also nice to get out and be active everyday, because the food is just so good and cheap here you never stop eating. oh the food....fruit shakes and noodels and rice and seafood and currys. that is what my life was it was all so amazing and you didn't pay more then 4 dollars a meal at the most! the beach and to pool.... it is so hot that you want to always be by water or a fan, so when i was not woking that is what i was doing by water or in my room by the fan. ok well time is running out and this is all i have time for now, but i hope it helped you all see into my life alittle more and i will try and do another post sometime soon!!
have to go
love you all tons!!!!
I MISS EVERYONE
