Darren and Vicki's Travels
Hello there,
Well i think i this is our third day in San Francisco - managed to find some accomodation in China town which is cheap - makes up for the hilton!!!. The shops here are wonderful - possibly better than in New york!!!
Spent our first day here (sun) relaxing took a wander to the peir saw the sea lions - now they are noisy .
Darren made me go on this 4d adventure log ride - where you sit in a chair with huge glases on and the whole chair moves- hmmmmm!!
We then went a wander and saw the crookedest street which is kinda cools although there were loads of tourist standing in the middle of the road taking pictures forgetting about the traffic - one things i have to say about the traffic - drivers are well more nice here than they are at home - pedestrians have right of way and the drivers honour that - wouldn't happen at home.
After the huge trek we decided to find a park and relax for a bit which we did then head back to the hostel - although we didn't notice that the sun had been out in force that day and we were both looking rather pink. Went out and grabbed some food (along with sun tan lotion) - Darren managed to find a ice cream shop which sells budweiser ice-cream - he was well chuffed with that.
Yesterday we decided to go to Golden Gates park (another huge trek) which is massive i caught up with some reading while darren - you guessed it slept - althought there were a couple of guys fighting which was intresting - they had the whole areas attention everyone telling them to grow up - they ended up shaking hands in the end - decided it would be better to move on.
Went to the Japanese tea gardens which we nice and relaxing - some where which was quiet - they do like to over use there car horns over here and the wailing of the emergency vehicals can grait ever so slighty.
Went a wander to the botanical gardens which were impressive met a few turtles in the main pond and Darrens favourites vermin - squirrels were running about everywhere - he is convinced that the squirrels are biding there time before taking over. after a slightly shorter trek- (we caught a bus part of the way back to the hostel) we made it back the the hostel and went out for food - went to a lovely Italian round the corner - the waiter is going to Glasgow next week - a couple of midouri mararita's and a mccallan - no Glen Morangie :( back to the hostel.
Thats Darren up now - so i'd better go get ready to go out and get some breakfast and a hat for Darren his head is ever so slighty sun burnt.
speak to you guys later.
