Chris n' Mel in Thailand
So since the last update we have been kinda busy, i say that with a pinch of salt as being busy consists of us chillin in the bars...and the odd bit odd sunbathing weather permitting.
Anyway after we last left an update we went for a few beers before going to the famous bar that is the reggae bar in the centre of phi phi. we had a few quiet drinks making fun of the english lads who took advantage of the 2 free buckets if you have a boxing match (by the way this involved some very dodgy breakdancing too, although I doubt that this was mandatory) A bit later we settled down for what we hoped was some real muay thai, sadly this never really materialised as it was a night for foreigners to get in the ring and battle it out instead of the real stuff.
Luckily this was quite entertaining as it is always fun to watch 2 friends have a go and about half way through start to get a bit shirty with each other and then begin to beat the livin crap out of each other... i have to say i if i had been here with some of my mates instead of mel I would have been one of them...
While we were there we starting to chat to a nice couple called Jamie and shovain who also decided that the brits who went into the ring were ok but the italians were idiots as they spent the whole fight dancing around wwf style instead of having a go and you could tell it was grating on the refs nerves as he finished their fights early.
So after the comedy fighting intermingled with a few good thai fights we decided to head to the hippie bar to see if we could catch the england match but unfortunately the were only playing the red hot chillie peppers dvd, so off we trotted (rather drunk) back to the reggae bar only to discover that it was half time and the score was already 4-0... gutted especially as i stayed up anyway waiting in vain for the magical 5th goal which never came... took me 2 days to see all the goals.... still we had a really good night and headed to bed very happy...
woke up the next morning and mel felt a bit rough saying that she felt like there was a apple stuck in her throat... boo, so i wandered off in search of a pharmacist and after a bit of a wander, eventually found one that sold me some medicine and some tablets... then as she was feeling a bit better we had a morning matinee in bed and watched nacho libre (good film) in bed whilst eating superb pancakes with bananas for me and cheese and tomato for mel. most of the day was spent chillin and as the weather was shockin we didnt do too much... the great thing about staying away for as long as we are is that this didnt seem a waste of a day, sooo we enjoyed not doing too much, ooh mel had a very nice crab with chilli dish on that day which compared to my poxy sandwhich looked awesome.
So we woke up this morning to a beatiful day and after having more pancakes and a morning matinee toddled of to the beach where it was scorchio! had a few beers while sat on a sandbank in the middle of the sea and also played some bat and ball ( i was a bit too enthusiastic and broke one set.. oops!) the chilled out in this really cool bar on the beach... really good day, if the not the most relaxing one we have had soo far) i loved it...
so tonight we hv been out again on the buckets but mel has not been feelin great so i have now taken her home and am now writing this journal while it pee's it down, fingers crossed it will stop soon or i will have an interesting run home..
bye for now
