M M Travels
Had a great day. Drove The Road to Hana. The road is 52 miles long, has 617 bends and 56 one lane bridges. You pass some breath taking scenery as the road hugs the steep slopes of the north of the island. It takes about three hours to drive one way, (then you've got to drive back because the road doesn't go round the island) as the speed limit is 15 mph most of the way. Then you drive on another nine miles to the Ohe'o Gulch, which is a waterfall with seven pools and is part of the Haleakala National Park. (Haleakala being the dormant volcano.)
It was quite an experience as you can imagine. Meeting other cars, pick up trucks tour buses and even school buses coming the opposite way on blind bends.
