M M Travels
Mammoth Lakes is a hidden gem, tucked into the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Mainly a winter sports centre, downhill, cross country skiing and snowboarding. It is apparently the place that put snowboarding on the map.
In other seasons there are endless hiking trails, mountain biking and road cycling. And, of course, fishing!
The joy of it is at this time of the year it is so quiet. Empty roads and deserted hiking trails, and this year, brilliant sunshine!
The town is celebrating Halloween at the moment and there are displays of pumpkins and squashes of all shapes sizes and colours.

Graham & Jenny Knowles Hi Marie @ Mike, saw Mark and Holly at Paul's birthday party last night and Mark was talking about your Blog and the incident of the 'Spooky White Van', which sounded a bit hairy! I asked him for your blog address and am sitting in our lounge with Jenny reading your excellent progress reports and beautiful photographs. It looks truly amazing and makes us want to be there. Good luck with the rest of your trip and we look forward to following your progress and seeing more of your beautiful photos. Love Jenny & Graham xx
