Arrived in Napier - the art deco city of New Zealand - on the 75th anniversary of the day an earthquake razed the city. Very interesting place and lovely buildings update more later Lynne & Davey xx

Arrived in Taupo on 2nd Feb - beautiful relaxing, very hot, decided to extend our stay by another three days just realised we are so close to Napier so we are of there tomorrow, just had a thrilling experience on the Huka jet boat absolutley FANTASTIC!! pumped more adrenaline than the skytower would have. Visited Lake Taupo - well actually we are staying right across the road from it. Spent some time at Huka Falls and Aritiatia gorge and the Craters of the Moon...

Hi everyone Well we have just had a relaxing few days here in Auckland. Today we got the train into town and caught the ferry to Devonport where we took a guided bus trip to find out about the island, then relaxed down at the beach after having lunch. Deveonport is the naval base in Auckland and very english - art deco style. Lovely building full of character and very interesting history. Yesterday 28th we got a taxi down to the harbour and had a walk around ...

Hi everyone Well here we are in kiwi country. Arrived at 3.40pm Sydney time but of course they are two hours ahead so we are now 13hours ahead of home. Hotel is in Ellerslie very nice, had dinner here last night then tried to find our bearings. We are 10mins from the harbour and there is a Reggata going on there today so thats where were heading. Kia-ora 31st January 2006 - not 14th January 2006!!! left Auckland yesterday and headed south on a four day tour. We're staying in Motels organised by the tour company. prior to moving south we moved into the Skysity hotel for one night - it was the last day of the Auckland Harbour Festival. Went to Parnell to surprise Larraine unfortuantely it was a public holiday and her business was closed for the day. Don't know if we will see her when we retutn on Friday...
