Los Angeles/Hollywood, California
Hey guys,
Had an amazing and safe flight over to LA, upgraded to club which meant we took advantage of the endless supply of wine and of course the flat beds, making our 11 hour flight all the more comfortable!!
Stayed at USA Hostels, Hollywood which was only 30 seconds from the walk of fame, but don't be phased it weren't as glamorous as it sounds - HaHa! Managed to pack loads in in the 3 or so days that we were in LA. Had a mooch round the Kodak Theatre, had pics with stars handprints and finished our first day with a hot mexican dinner - takeaway Nacho's and Burrito's enough to feed a family of five!
Sunday we did a tour of the stars homes, in the pictures you will see Jennifer Aniston's multi-complex abode and Wacko Jacko's where it's always Christmas!! Tour guide words not ours! Watched Terminator Salvation at the Chinese Theatre, film weren't brill but theatre was amazing. After getting no where at the tourist information help desk we found our way to the Dodger Stadium to watch them play the Phillies. Although they lost it was a really good day out and being typical British came back looking a little like lobsters.
Monday = UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!! Nothing short of brillaint. Started with the tour, followed by The Revenge of the Mummy, Krustyland, Shrek 4D, Temrinator 3D, House of Horrors (far scarier than any fright night we have ever been too!!), Jurassic Park and other various tours and shows. Especially enjoying Water World where we stupidly sat in the "soak zone" thinking a little water never hurt anybody. Four buckets of water before the show even began and we could ring our little socks out. We stayed up at Universal City, treating ourselves to a nice Italian meal due to being so sick of hotdogs the size of your arm and to our horror we had pasta which came in a bowl we could have bathed in!! Nice pasta, but too much!
Tuesday saw us visiting a very special place for Roxanne. . . . the FRIENDS SET at Warner Bros Studios. Look out for the pic where we're sitting on the ACTUAL sofa used in the Central Perk. The tour was really cool, seeing sets from Jurassic Park, Casablanca, Two and a Half Men, The Mentalist etc etc. We finished up in the Warner Bros museum which was bloody awesome! We were up close and personal, but sorry no camera's allowed :-( to the very costume worn by Heath Ledger when he played the Joker in Batman:Dark Knight, as well as his rather fetching nurses uniform. But the highlight of the museum was the Harry Potter floor which was filled with costumes and props from the films, including the sorting hat, Harry's wand, Weasley's jokes, Ron's Howler, Hermione's time-turner, the tri-wizard cup to name a few, the list could go on and on and on!!
