Hi sweethearts!
thanks for your phonecall! (thursday 19)
The blog was VERY entertaining - Dad was chuckling away...you write VERY well! ...it cheered US up ....Tewkesbury and gloucester are major flood disaster areas ..no running water or electricity...people queueing for bottled water....panic buying in Sainsburys....people stockpiling bread and milk....the land registry is closed until further notice!!!BUT SWINDON VILLAGE is FINE ...NO flooding thank god.(and NO leeches .....yet...) WE STILL have water and the sun has come out at last today - tuesday- so i m off for a jog round the village ...it takes me ages becos people keep stopping me to remind us to fill up saucepans with water so we can flush the loo if the water is turned off.....
SO ...ENJOY yourselves ...keep safe ...blow a kiss to the Orangatangs for me....
LOTS of LOVE - mum and Dad ...ps "CLAUDE CHALLE " sends his love ...???

Look at your two hot chicks :-) Listen that white water raffting...you could've done it in Chelt yesterday...we had so much rain (again) that it's hard to believe. The Rec centre will be shut for a few months because the hall we use for combat is under 5 ft of water, scary. But it's all good stuff, could be worse couldn't it :-) I am so proud of you two for climbing the mountain, well done. See all that training you did before you went is paying off. Well done my beautiful. Can't wait to see more photos...The locals haven't got a clue how lucky they are to have you teaching them some funky moves :-) Love you girls xxxx
P.S. oo Tina keep putting cold stuff on your knee to stop inflamation and speed up recovery of muscle and soft tissue. x

Hi everyone!!!
We haven't got enough time to update our blog so we thought we'd just leave you a quick message here...
Well...what an adventure we've had over the last couple of days. We both managed to climb the mountain. We got as far as Laban Ratan which is a large guesthouse 11,000ft up the mountain. I managed to twist my knee the day before we started the climb so by the time we reached the guest house I was in quite alot of pain, and Mia had some altitude sickness during the night so we decided not to climb to the summit. However, we did take the harder route up and it was still an 8km climb uphill so we're feeling very proud of ourselves as we've never done anything like that before. It was very funny on the way down because i couldn't bend my knee so I had three very kind mountain guides, Soppinghi, Binka and Benjamin, helping me down, one holding each hand and the other close behind incase i slipped. We've never met such kind and friendly people before, they were amazing! We stayed at Soppinghi's house the previous night and had a bit of a party. All the local people are so warm and friendly. We even liked the local food they cooked for us, and the rice wine wasn't too bad either. We have some very funny videos and pictures from the home stay - Mia teaching the locals some street dance moves! We will put them up as soon as we can.
We're at the Poring Hot Springs at the moment soaking our very achey limbs, then we're heading off into the jungle tomorrow....lol, that should be fun. Everyone in our group is amazing. We've made some really good freinds - Lin and Lindsey from Australia, some fab girls from Jersey - Sarah and Nat, Helmut from Germany, Arvin and Aneal from the States, Jo from New Zealand, Marianne and Yvonne from Spain and Richard our tour leader.
We will hopefully be in touch within the next week when we arrive in Sandakan, our next big city. Take care of yourselves.
Lots of love, T and M xxxx
P.s. My knee is fine now...i'm almost walking properly, so don't worry Mum and Dad!!!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your messages. Just to let you know, if you're not familiar with this site to view our blogs you need to obviously click on the tab labelled 'blogs' and then click on the Buddhist picture labelled Malaysia. Then on the next page click on the name on the left of the picture, ie. Kota Kinabalu. Then there will be some dates on the right hand side of the picture, click on these to find out what we've been up to each day.
We're joining our Intrepid tour tomorrow (Sat) and heading off to the mountain so we probably won't be able to access the blog for a few days. But keep checking back coz we're sure to have some more tales to tell very soon. Take care of yourselves.
Lots of love, T and M xxxx
