this is my last full day here in paris, and that makes me sad cause this was an amazing place to end in. since i got here i have wanted to go to the catacombs here, but each day is so full it has been put off. well not today, maria and odesa, this new girl in our room from istanbul decide to head out and go to the catacombs. first tho ended up taking the metro to champs elysees. now this is heaven for me. nothing but high end shopping. i got to see my louis vuitton here in paris, which was on my list of things i wanted to see here. those who know me, know i have a huge designer purse thing and i luvem. and man i saw the purse for me, just came out , limited edition and ONLY 2800 euros. well 5 weeks ago i could have affoarded it, granted i would be homeless in europe the whole trip lol but def trecking around europe was worth more then my louis vuitton bag, one day i will own one, a real one :). after that saw the arc de triumph. then took metro to the catacombs. the metro is right in front of it and as soon as we went up we saw a huge line at the entrance to the catacombs. big suprise since everywhere in europe has long lines during this time of year, so got in line and waited patienly. after an hour we finally get inside. now i am so into this kind of stuff , so just the sign inside the entrance i loved. it said, anyone caught stealing bones will be taken to the police. we then head down the 130 or so stairs underground, a very narrow staircase. after walking thru many corridors underneath paris, finally get to the bones. wow, there are thousands, all around u. it was like nothing i have even seen before. the bones of humans were right there, everywhere. and it went on on for awhile, just bones stacked everywhere. i did think it was interesting that they made designs out of the bones. then came to the end, which required going up all those stairs on the narrow stair case. which after going all around europe , walking , hiking, stairs , rock climbing, it did not make me tired. i def have moved into a new fitness level. at the top of the stairs at the exit they have someone working there checking your bags. on a table, there were a couple skulls and some bones. looks like some people were taken to the police!
afterwards we decided to walk to the jardin du luxemborg. it was not super close but it was nice out. on the way we stopped at some cool little shops. i loved this part of paris becuase it was one of the few areas i had seen that were not touristy. it was normal there, and we felt like regualr parisians just walking around town. the gardens were amazing. it was so peacful. we just sat in some chairs there and talked and just relaxed. we observed people, there was this one women who in paticular i could not keep my eyes off. she was dressed to the T, white gloves, big hard, white suit, pretty blonde hair, she looked so "paris" to me, had a very 1940's look to her. she just walked around, and then she came close and her face was damaged. it looked like she had plastic surgery and it had gone wrong. now maybe i was wrong but i did grow up in cali and generally can tell. it made me sad at first, cause i did not want to stare anymore to make her uncomfortable, but she still was just so pretty. i decided tho that she did not care what eople thought of her, she went out still, dressed up and seemed at peace. really made me think and i never even talked to her! we then got some dinner, some sandwiches , since stores are closed on sunday and brought it back to the gardens and sat in the grass and had dinner. there were a lot of people doingthe same, just enjoying the nice weather and drinking wine.
after dinner, maria had an appointment for a flat to look at , so me and odessa were going to roam around and we decided to meet up with maria after her appt and go out for drinks. so we left the gardens and just roamed around . we ended up seeing a old beautiful church, near the latin quarter and went inside where a mass was going on. we watched it forawhile, which appeared to me to be a catholic mass. we then got some crepes, mine with nutela , my new fav thing, its chocolate and hazelnut spread yumm. then before we knew it, it was 8pm and we needed to meet maria. we ended up meeting at the metro by the louve. there is a summer carnival goiing on there, so we hung out there then found a place for some nice wine. we ended up drinking 2 bottles between us lol. while we were at this lil cafe, the son of the owner i guess had been looking at me, he got his granpa who also was working there, to come over and ask if i would hang out with him tonight. well i did not know how serious he was and i spoke no french, only maria spoke it and we just assumed she was not translating him right, so we kinda ignored the question. well then the grandfather comes over and hands me a note from the son. it was in french and some broken english with this guys number. then for the rest of the night he went outside where we were and just stared at me. akward huh, finally they were closing and this guy was still at it, waving at me and motioning for me to call him, i kept the note for my scrapbook lol
we then were tipsy and walking around paris. i got to see the eiffel tower lit up, but was sad it was blue and not sparkling. then when we were on a bridge by the eiffel tower, it started sparkling at midnight! i was so excited. we also came acorss this building with a light show on it and just sat there watching it. after that we were getting tired and we were not that close to our hostel and wanted to make sure we caught the last metro before it closed for the night, so we headed back, made it phew! then back atthe hostel, went to bed and was sad , since this meant it was the end of my trip.
