“Your initial opinion on just about anything may change over time.” ~Lemony Snicket.
San Sebastian, Spain
On my last night in England, Alex and his parents gave me a lift up to my Dad's house and stopped for dinner with my family. One of the many topics of conversation was how people overuse Facebook nowadays and Alex and I both commented that we've been using Facebook less and less recently.
Since that conversation my Facebook use has increased exponentially! I've been thinking about it this evening and the conclusion which I have come to is this: Facebook is the main or only method of correspondence which I have with the majority of my friends right now. Everybody uses it to some extent and if you are feeling homesick or lonely, either there is almost always someone online to have a quick chat with or you can have a nosy, see what everyone has been up to and look at photos to either see how everyone is or to reminisce of the lovely times we've had so far together.
I therefore retract my initial statement and admit that now I use Facebook a LOT - and that I love how, because of developments such as Facebook, my friends from all over the world and I can still be a part of each others' lives on a daily basis (albeit slightly), even when we are miles and even countries apart.
