Howdy doo!
Stop number two on the trip brings us to Adelaide. We arrived at about half 6 on Saturday morning after a 9ish hour bus journey, our first Greyhound of the trip. Not a bad journey all told, bus was barely half full.
After arriving at our hostel we had the same problem as Melbourne, couldn't check in for 4 hours. We had a bit of a laze about and watched American Gangster and had a couple of games of pool to pass the time, then when we got in had a bit of a kip.
We headed out into Adelaide for a few jars that night, having been told that there was one street where all the action was.. aaand we got lost. Ended up in a bar talking to a canny bouncer (even if he did support Chelsea) who we had a bit craic with, then he drew us a map to show us where to go. After a bit of a walk and me losing them when they stopped to take some photos of metal pigs, we caught up again in a bar near the top of the street and stopped there for the rest of the night. Just as we were all served enough to get our dancing clogs on, they closed. Dunno wheather that's a good thing or not!
The next couple of days we didn't do much, as it was starting to hit home how much we were spending, especially for those two. That and the fact that Adelaide is a fairly quiet place didn't really mix well! There's not much to do and all the bars shut early. It's like Sunday ALL the time.
We did however have a great killer pool tournament the night before we checked out. Two lads from Perth (the Scotland one) Colin & Duncan, who were stopping in our hostel, were great craic and Colin even supplied the Whiskey when the bar shut. The bar shut at 10:30 aswell by the way, the miserable b******s!
Anyway, it put a canny end to this part of the trip. Next stop Alice Springs and the all important visit to Ayers Rock!
