We picked up the Van around 3pm and bought a map from the petrol station. It then took us about an hour to find our way out of Sydney! Finally we found the Princes Highway and headed south.
First stop was Bulli Point where we found a really cool viewpoint on the edge of the cliff with a restaurant built on an overhang. We had a coffee and checked out the view whcih was pretty impressive. You could see down the coast towards Wollongong.
Next we decided to hit the road hard and get to Batemans Bay as there was nothing that we wanted to see up to that point so I drove straight for about 8 hours stopping off at a small town on the way wher we loaded up on food for the next few days.
The drive was really nice, lots of nice views but eventually the light went and it turned pretty spooky once we started driving throug big woodland areas and added to it was the fact that it got to the point when we were running out of fuel and i hadnt seen a petrol station for hours! (that was open) It got to the point where I was actually real worried we were going to run out but i just kept chugging along hopin that i'd come across a town so at least we didnt run out in the middle of the woods. Finally we saw some lights up ahead and even better there was a 24 hr petrol station, it was literally just in time, i think we were starting to run on fumes!
After filling up we found batemans bay and a nice spot on the seafront where we parked up, made a cuppa tea and a little bit of food and hit the hay coz i was knackered after all the driving and we wanted to get going early.
In the morning we went to the fish market and got some lovely sea food for breakfast. We then hit the road again and carried on outh to our next destination.
