The cockroach outside our hostel had a bad night of it, was still on its back 9 hours later, gutted. Got picked up by our tour guide from the hostel and picked up 2 others that were on the trek with us, 2 Swedes, Henrik and Josephine, friendly chaps. We were taken to the start of the trek in the back of a pick-up, really nice way to travel. The guy driving ate an entire deep fried chicken foot on the way, all the grissle and cartilage, rank!
The first day we walked for around 'half and 2 hours' before we arrived at a tribal village, on the way managed to bump in to bright green snake about 2 foot long. All very friendly people, in the evening our tour guide Yute introduced us to a great way of livening up card games without alcohol. Its called PandaFacing, if you lose a round the he gets to rub his finger in charcoal from the bottom of a saucepan and draw on your face. [when i figure out how to put up pics you'll see]

Day two of the trek we set off at around 10 after the rain had stopped, walked for around 3 hours, a much harder walk than the previous day, very hilly and slippery from the rain. Arrived at an elephant camp and rode them for a few hours. Me and burns had some kid that was in training, he didn't seem to steer the thing at all, seemed more interested in popping leaves, apparently all the locals call him MonkeyBoy. Arrived at the second village and went for a swim in the river to wash as there were no showers, its weird how clean you feel after swimming in filthy water. We then had an epic game of football with the locals and the others from the tour, some of the locals are awesome even though they play barefoot, with 1 shoe. Pat was berated by a kid who kept calling him a LadyBoy. The food served for the night was awesome, been sprout's and spud curries and stuff, love it. Shotgun never bunking up with Burns again, seriously nearly sick!

Finished off the trek with bamboo rafting. Feels good to just lay in the river and float downstream for miles, still can believe no one got a leech on them the entire trek. Burns managed to get his feet stuck in the mud half way down the river and required pulling out. Good times! Yute is probably the best tour guide I've ever known, hes the most friendly guy ever, good laugh. He doesn't know any timespan other than half and hour, so no matter where you're going, you'll be there in half an hour. Don't worry chicken curry! No wife no sun. tastes like chicken.
