The journey back home! Well sort of...
On the way up to Airlie we stopped at the boarder of the tropic of Capricorn, you know just to get the obligatory tourist pics (see above). After this Deano suggested we all chip in 6 bucks each and he'd stop at a supermarket and get heaps of chicken bread and salad and stuff and we could make sandwiches. Everyone thought, yer this is a good idea, everyone except rob, who thought he'd save himself some money and buy his own. He ended up saving 50 cents, but chucked most of it away as he didn't like it and had to watch us tuck into the nicest chicken sandwiches I'd had in ages.Another 5 hours on the road (this was our longest journey at 8 hours) and we stopped at Sarina bowls club to play some barefoot bowls. Unfortunately the greens were shut for maintenance, boo, so it turned out to be a very short stop and we rolled straight on to Airlie. When we checked into our hostel we ran into Toni and Ruben, from Hayman, who we had arranged to meet, Austin the chef was also there by chance and we ran into preety much everyone we had meet going up the coast which was really cool! We dumped our bags got some food then headed out for a night in famous Airlie Beach!
We were up at 9 the next day to check out and put our bags into storage for our sailing trip that evening. We spent most of the day relaxing by the lagoon before our trip, which started at 7 that night. We met up with Amy and Talhea, who we met in Noosa and had been following us up the coast, the maccums and Elodie from Fraser were also there as well and we just chilled at the lagoon and got pizza, then 7 rolled around and we went down to the marina to board our boat Anaconda III!
