Since we left Sydney we have been to spot x which isn't its real name but its a small camp run by surfing instructors on the east coast north of Sydney. There we had a morning of surfing lessons, probably the most fun thing I've ever done yet! Didn't realise I could surf at all, well I thought I wasn't even going to stand on the board, but within 40 minutes I was up and within 2 hours the instructor pulled me further out and made me ride 5ft waves! At that time I just thought 'what the hell am I doing out here!' but it was the best thing in the world when I was at the top of the wave! We chilled out in the afternoon in the sun and then ate round the camp fire during the evening, the next day we caught the bus 3 hours north to Byron Bay; supposedly the coolest place in aus! Which it seems to be but the weather has been rubbish, cloudy and windy! And some rain, but it's brought the surfer dudes, like me! But no joking about the last bit. Haven't been able to do much here for the last 3 days due to the rain which is crap but it's still a cool place. The last 3 days we've been cooking our own meals which has been a money saver. I've been delegated to head chef which has meant I've been to show my amazing cooking skills in curries and pasta dishes ha! Off to surfers paradise tomorrow which as you can work out is where surfing is big. Were only there for one night due to our tight schedule but I'm meeting Lee hobden and her family, which is one of mums really old friends when I was a baby! And then she moved back to aus. She met me when I was a baby but I can't remember her but should be fun to meet someone new. That's it now really so will keep on top of it and update it soon!
