Hello there...
So we arrived back in Sydney to find it alot colder than it had been when we left and alot wetter than we hoped but no worries as there was lots of partying to be had. Mat turned 19 the day after we got back so the Shaw sisters cooked him up a feast of bangers and mash with chocolate mousse for pudding. We put the candles in the mash and they melted into it a little more than we intended, Doh! Still tasted fine though apparently! After, we went out with randoms from the hostel and saw some live music.
At the weekend we gatecrashed a 21st birthday party on a rooftop for some drinks and a barbeque with a couple of Aussies Lucy met in London (we're staying with them in Newcastle this weekend). They were complete nutters and we actually struggled a bit to keep up with them. Harriet was asked to leave the club later and Lucy went to Mcdonalds alone and made 2 orders!! Haha
Debbie of course was the very sensible, mature one who took Harriet back to the hostel!
We met Mat at the start of the week for Pancake at 'Pancakes on the rocks' after Jenny and Pauls recommendation and have returned since with Naomi and Louise as they were so amazing!
After a couple of days chilling out at Harri and Ash's we went for $2 steak as we were curious at what would be served up for that price. It actually cost $8 as we had to buy a drink and it was extra for mash and gravy but we were still impressed as the pool was cheap too so a good night was had.
Thanks to the cheap food and drinks, we were a bit hungover but that was cured by the arrival of Naomi and Louise!! Yay
We walked around circular quay so they could see the bridge and opera house then got an early night.
On the friday we met up with Tess - Lucy's boyfriend's friend for a quiet drink and meal. It wasn't all that quiet in the end!! Very fun though and Tess was really lovely.
We had a picnic in the botanical gardens with a view of the opera house on saturday and then Harry and Ash came round for some goon and we found this fantastic place where you hire a room and sing karaoke, so funny we could've stayed all night!
We went on the opera house tour this week which wasn't quite what we expected - the tour guide was pretty dull and totally suited his name...Neville!
The opera house itself though was really impressive and we did get to see the ballet company taking class and hear the orchestra rehearse.
Yesterday we did the coastal walk from Bondi beach to Coogee beach, not the weather for sunbathing but the walk was good and Naomi and Louise paddled on Bondi.
It's our last day today so we're going out for dinner with Harry and Ash.
Blue Mountains tomorrow, so exciting!!
