Had such an amazing last day in Byron Bay! Went to the beach this morning with Amanda and waited at the bus stop until her bus to Brisbane left. I went on a walk to the lighthouse and ended up going the longest route - but the views were so worth it! Walked past a wallaby with a baby in its pouch literally they were right in front of me looking at me! I tried to get a photo but it's of them a bit further away as some other people came and disturbed them. There was also a massive lizard and loads more wildlife. Walked through the most easterly point on the mainland too! Eventually got to the lighthouse and had some banana bread and water in the cafe with an amazing view. Was walking down and saw hand-glider and decided spontaneously to have a go XD The offer of the free ride back to Byron centre afterwards swung it for me haha. You essentially jump off a cliff but once you've ran off its quite slow and controlled but the view from being horizontal is insane. The instructor kept letting me steer and do 360 turns and we saw kangaroos and went over the rainforest and waves then flew with Eagles for half an hour before landing on the beach (you run to land and I didn't fall over!) Such an amazing experience.
