One of the highlights of our time in Paris was definitely the evening bike tour around the city. We joined a group tour (check out Fat Bike Tour Company) and spent 5 hours seeing Paris in the best way: on a bike. Starting off at the Eiffel Tower, we headed towards historic sites such as the Notre Dame and stopped along the way at the Locks of Love Bridge, Napoleons grave (where we learned that a certain part of his body had been cut off and auctioned off for a hefty price - if you can guess correctly what it is, we'll be impressed), and other places. We also enjoyed delicious ice cream at some world famous shop and made a friend from Texas who we went out with after. The tour ends with a boat ride across the canal and fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower. At 11 pm and 12 am we viewed a show of twinkling lights which was just gorgeous.
In this photo, I'm biking in my fancy yellow vest across the Louvre. The courtyard of the museum is so calm and romantic in the evening. People bring instruments and play jazz or improv in alleys, giving the area a very relaxed vibe unlike the busy city. Props to our tour guide Stu from London for taking us there and the funny stories along the way - DOMINATE!
