Busy couple of days so i will try and sqeeze as much info in as poss!
After about 24 hours travelling liz and i made it to kerala yday (all in matching outfits). After a rocky overnight plane i definately started to question the 14 flights booked over the next couple of months considering my fear of flying, but its too late now! We were greated at cochin airport after our second flight by a driver sennt from our hostel. He didnt speak a word of english and drove what we thought was a cool colonial car at first glance. on getting inside we found it was falling apart, mouldy, had a brown carpet and one wingmirror, not ideal for 2 hour journey!
Kerala is beautiful. in the car we were able to see a lot of the waters and wildlife. Today we explored fort cochi. We had a fruit platter lunch with local and exotoc fruits which was a nice change from curry! We visited a couple of tourist attractions - a. palace (which from the outside looked liit was derelict) which had detailed muriels throughout, an synagogues whiched housed around 30 hanging lights. we also made a friend in a shop who gave us a bit of a tour for the rest of the afternoon which was the highlight of the day. He took us to an authentic spice market which had sacks and sacks of spices and piles of ginger drying. We also went around the local part of town dodging through the traffic.
Travelling to a homestay on the water tomorrow so need to figure out how to get there!
