Lucy's Travels
Thursday 23rd March - Caught the ferry back to Koh Samui
Friday 24th March - Checked into a place we have stayed before because it was suddenly 200B cheaper!?! Had a chill out day on the beach and booked our ferry and bus ticket to Bangkok!
Saturday 25th March - Probably our last trip of our travelling, which is a bit sad but what a way to finish. We did a speed boat trip to an island called Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan to do lots of snorkelling. We made a stop at one side of the island and did the best snorkelling of my life! The coral was amazing -different colours, shapes and you can hear the fish eating the plankton off of the rocks. Another experience was that the fish swim around you, rather than you swimming to catch them. At first this felt a bit odd because its something you dont expect, its a bit like having loads of fly's around you!! However, Dan and I saw the most amazing fish it was just awsome!
We then went to a different side of the island for some lunch and then made our way to Koh Nangyuan. This is an island consisting of two islands joined by a stretch of golden sand. Just stunning! Big boulder type rocks make it look like a set from a Flinstones movie, it just didnt look real. This is also where that writer dude based the book 'The Beach'. All of the little beaches are thigh deep, great for snorkelling and going further out. The best bonus of the day was that I swam accros 1000B - dont get too excited its only 15 pound but it meant we were not over our budget for the day - yay we can eat dinner tonight!
Sunday 26th March - Had a quiet day hanging around our beach and had to make a quick trip to the tailors for a fitting!
Monday 27th March - Spent the morning trying to find a motor bike that came with insurance. However, finding insurance in Thailand is like looking for an honest taxi driver!! So we decided to live dangerously and not bother, we saw one crash after being on the bike 5min!! We were fine - we went to the local food market and bought a fruit suply and then made our way to a different beach on Samui called Lamai. The beach is quiter and only about a 25min drive from where we are staying, so we spent the rest of the day chilling there! In the evening we had a meal for 3 pound and then found a bar that sold cocktails for 70B = about a pound! I dont really remember much apart from the lady from MacDonalds walking me to a toilet about 5min away in someones house!!!
Tuesday 28th March - Hangover!!!!
