We left Franz Josef and headed to Lake Matheson, one of the many lakes in New Zealand to show a mirror - like reflection of it's surroundings. Went for a short walk up to a veiwing platform and got some photos then sat outside the cafe and had a drink. Also stopped off at a gorgeous waterfall for a quick pic. Carried on to Wanaka, a really nice town by a massive lake, and checked into Base. Was definately the nicest Base we have stayed at. Decided to get a double room one last time, especially as I was feeling poorlier throughout the day. The room was gorgeous with an en-suit which is such a treat when you're staying in hostles, and we had a plasma tv!! Another treat! So got to watch a bit of Malcom in the Middle as we unpacked :-) A group of people went to the little cinema which was apparently really nice, but we had a look round the town then went to the bar for dinner where they were doing a deal of chilli and a drink for a fiver which was lovely :-) Played in a killer pool competition (didn't do too well!!) and it was an open mic night. My rule in NZ is to have a go at everything, so although I was very out of practice with a very sore throat I went up and played a few songs.... completely forgot the chords for both Oasis and Maroon 5 half way through but luckily people just carried on singing along when I stopped playing which madde it less embarrasing haha! Did a couple of my own songs to try and redeem myself before my voice gave up, although helped a guy do a Foo Fighters song later on as I had promised I would. Got a free nights accomodation voucher for Queenstown Base which I wasn't expecting so that made it worth doing! Headed up to bed later on and fell straight to sleep!!
