Well as i usually do when i start off these blogs i would like to apologise for not writing sooner! We have done SO much since i last wrote so i havent really had the time to sit down and write a huge blog!
After Mission Beach we carried on down to Townsville where we got a ferry across to Magnetic Island and stayed there for 3 days. The island is known for its lush bays and diving hotspots but because its stinger season at the moment we werent really able to take much advantage of this unless we wanted to sport a sexy stinger suit! (or not...) We went to a bay called horseshoe bay, which was the one of the only beaches to have a stinger enclosure in the sea so we could swim! I got royally burnt though because i fell asleep on the beach so spent most of my time looking like a right tomato. school boy!
On our return from Magentic Island, we met Chaps in Townsville and moved down to Airlie Beach. We stayed in the most revolting hostel ever and Chaps and I had a pretty eventful night! I woke up at 3am to the sound of someone being sick next to Chap's bed and bed bugs crawling alol over my mattress! I was absolutely bitten to death! My legs looked like they'd had a right party! Itchy times! After having literally no sleep all night, we went on our 3 day trip to the Whitsunday Islands. We went on a Maxi sailing boat and were given the opportunity to do loads of snorkelling on the barrier reef which was really nice despite the visibility in the water being not so good this time of year. I rolled with some sea sickness tablets for the 3 days because i was well not up for being ill again like i was in Cape Town!
After getting off the boat we stayed in Airlie Beach for 3 nights and went out every night. If you've seen my pictures on facebook you'll be able to see the outcome of most evenings! pretty messy! From Airlie Beach we moved onto Hervey Bay where we stayed for one night before we went to Fraser Island on a 4WD self drive safari. Fraser was absolutely amazing and we went to some amazing lakes! My favourites were Lake Mackenzie which had clear blue waters and lush white sand and Lake Allam because it was filled with little turtles! Loved it!
We stayed in Hervey Bay for another night after the trip and then moved down to Noosa. We were meant to go on a 3 day canor safari but because the weather was quite rainy we bottled it and decided to go to Australia Zoo for the day instead! The Zoo was awesome as it was pretty much dedicated to Steve Irwin and his family for all the work theyve done for the animal kingom. We fed elephants, stroked koalas and Kanagroos and watched teenage tigers play around with their trainers which was so cute! I was so jealous though - id do anything to play with a tiger!
Now we're in Brisbane which is a really amazing city with excellent shopping and a random man-made beach right in the city centre! Pretty surreal but well nice! Me and Chaps even went to the museum and art gallery today! How very cultured of us! Anyways must dash because this internet cafe is about to close and im the only one left in here! Hope everyone is well and thanks again for all of your messages! Miss you all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
