Well here I am in Denver - the mile high city! Its called that because its a mile above sea-level and boy can you tell it - its so dry here, makes your skin and hair all horrible and dry and the winds are unbelievable (very nearly fell over yesterday!!!) I'm staying at a hostel about 15mins walk to the city center. Its pretty basic but only $20 and again theres free internet! Although I just found that out today and I go tomoro! I haven't done as much as I planned to here as they don't seem to do any day trips to the mountains (I still get to see them from Canada end later on though!) so I've hung out and been seeing the sights in the city. Had a fun night out the other night when I met an air-hostess from Las Vegas and we had some drinks and food in a lovely Italian place. Its funny that I can walk into a place on my own here but wouldn't dream of doing it at home!! Its been lovely and warm - yesterday I was sat on the balcony with my legs out catching the rays but was woken this morning by Krista (in my dorm) shouting 'Its snowing!' Sure enough it is snowing pretty hard and the whole place is covered in at least a foot of snow and its getting deeper by the hour.
I've been to the park this morning - City Park is pretty big and about 5mins walk. There weren't many people about, just a few dog walkers. Most people I met thought I was pretty mental to be out enjoying a walk! But I explained that i'd never seen snow like it in my life! I've got into the coffee thing out here and seem to walk everywhere with a big takeaway cup of Mocha with me (Its so cheap too!) I'm back at the hostel thawing out now but am going to head into the center to catch a film for $5 this afternoon! I saw Wild Hogs the other day which is a good cheesy watch! But the films are a little strange at the moment - planty are about the future or thousands of years in the past. Think I might check out the new Sandra Bullock one. The cinema will probably be warmer than the hostel which is the main thing! My friends are all in front of the tv next door with their duvets on the sofas!
Tomoro I head off to Nashville so I think I'll have had enough of the snow by then! I just hope all the flights are going ok, I guess they must be used to the snow here - it probably doesnt cause the chaos that it would back home eh?! Have just heard from Lewis and Lizzie who Im meeting in Vegas in 10days - they said after I left Fiji there was a hurricane! Turns out I timed it quite well!! Anyhows I'm off to the cinema - if I get out by about 3pm all the restaurants have happy hour till about 5.30 and I can get bargain price food and drink!! Means I dont have to worry about tea later on! Catch up with you all soon :)
