Well the first day was a bit of a wash out so both the glacier hike and the skydive were off. We consoled ourselves by spending the afternoon relaxing in the hot pools before a nice pizza buffet and a few drinks in the evening. Well from leaving Picton, we have had an extra companion....the rain clouds. We headed to Abel Tasman via a vineyard where we got to stop and try some wines from the local area. We thought we might leave a little tipsy but they were a bit stingy on the wine so we were all stone cold sober. The drive was quite long and not very scenic due to the clouds and the fog and the atmoshphere on the bus wasnt great, which made me a bit sad to have moved on. But it turn out...

Well Christchurch wasn't much to write home about, it is still recovering from the earthquakes and has a long way to go. I left via a tour of the suburbs due to the driver knowing the area. The place was like a ghost town as most buildings, homes etc were deemed unsafe for habitation so everyone left. After this rather sad tour we headed for Kaikoura. So Sydney has been busy but as I have been on my own for most of it, it's got a little lonely at times. I arrived around lunchtime and checked into my hostel, which is the biggest I have stated in by far....all 9 stories of it. Well I am safely in Brisbane after 5 more hours on the greyhound. But I am glad and sad to say that is the end of the greyhound for me now as I fly to Sydney tomorrow, so the Australia leg of the trip is almost over!
