Hola!Wouaaaahh, I'm just back from Pucon, 10 hours of bus south from Santiago.Well, Pucon, this is: lakes, thermal baths, volcano Villarica, mountaineering, snowboarding/skiing, cascades, trekking, and also shopping and partying, depending on the mood…Last Thursday we arrived in Pucon with a big blue sky but a freezing wind.We spent all the afternoon in Los Pozones thermal baths… mmmh, quite pleasant indeed, pictures tell everything.A quiet and healthy day before the Day…The day after, waking up at 6:00 to climb el Volcano Villarica, a 2840m volcan that is still active, and that actually constantly spits smelly sulphur smoke out…A 6-7hour ramble, with a 20-kg equipment including crampons, ice peak, snowboard and snowboard boots in the back… It's been sooo hard, but sooo good in the end, thanks to the amazing landscape, weather, snowboard, and great experience as a whole…On Saturday, Julie, Laurent and Ophélie were brave enough to go to Parque Huerquehue for quick hiking in the trees and lakes and cascades… Thomas and I were not as faithful and we walked in Pucon, visiting this strange city split into rich buildings along the lake dedicated to summer tourists and poor wooden houses for inhabitants and winter tourists… same for shops: handcraft and very old fashioned sport clothes on the one hand, on the other hand worldwide fashion brands such as Burton, The North Face, Beneton…Unfortunately it had just rained for 2 weeks thus harbour and beach and houses on the coast were mostly under water, with people cycling and driving in flooded streets.Just the time for a few Kunstmann beers (Chilean/German beer with honey, mmmh so delicious!) before jumping in the bus back to Santiago.Bye bye lovely wild Pucon!!
