With only one day in NYC we tried to cram a lot in. Up early we popped to the Natural History museum where we saw lots of extinct animals, learnt about isolated cultures and funnily enough saw a model of Henchwin. We then went for a romantic stroll through central park popping into Strawberry fields (John Lennon's memorial)- the name confused you know who-"Why is it even called strawberry fields? There aren't any strawberrys!"
We then got the subway, Chaz accidentaly bought the wrong ticket and got extremely angry at the ticket woman who refused to exchange it for the proper one. He eventually just bought the other ticket and took a long while to calm down. We went up 5th avenue but didn't stay particularly long, no money and expensive shops arn't a good mix.
The afternoon was Empire State building time and after i confirmed to Chaz that King Kong wasn't actually real, we got up to the 86th floor. In the night we went to Times Square for food and a couple of pints. Chaz had coke however as unfortunaly his fake ID hadn't arrived in time. A glass of ice alone would have been ideal though thanks to the hottest chicken wings we had ever had.
After the meal we went to the world famous 'Comedy Strip Live', the one with the brick wall behind the performers. Saw some great stuff and the most ridiculously racist and politically incorrect gags that would get you charged for racism in England. We then finished off the evening with a stroll through central park at 1 in the morning and right through a council estate in the middle of Harlem.....There were a few times we regretted not taking a taxi from the club if were honest.
Off to Princeton University tommorrow and Mr Wheeler's first crack at being Alfie.
