we've been in australia for 9 days now but ill tell you all about Singapore first...

it was strange how we were in asia but it was like a completelty different side of it to anything we'd seen so far. everything was spotless and so efficient! we stayed in a 12 man dorm in a hostel in China Town. This was our first dorm experience and the hostel looked so horrible from the outside but we're backpacking with a limited budget so we had no choice! staying in a room with so many people and no windows wasnt great, its frustrating because you have none of your own space and cant even put the light on because there's always someone sleeping no matter what time of the day it is!

anyway, we loved singapore. we spent a day at the zoo which was such fun and there was so many different animals. i thought we may be a little too old for it but not at all! we bought a joint ticket so we could go to the night safari in the evening-also very impressive. you go in these little trams around a seperate park and see all the animals. we were so tired by the end of the day and also a little bit animal-ed out! ive never seen so much shopping in my life-i wish i hadnt been travelling for the next few months so i could go on a massive spree! Its mall after mall.

we had an amazing meal for 9 pounds in Little Inida. it was in a banana leaf restaurant wher alll your food gets put literally onto a huge leaf and away you go! the indians dont use cutelry they scoop the meal up with their hands and bread!

we went to Raffles to celebrate me getting into uni which was an expensive evening for Stu! I had a Singapore Sling and Stu had a pint of beer and it came to $62 which is about 30 pounds! haha well worth it tho. wouldnt mind staying there one day....
