hello!
we are killing time because we are stranded in a small local town for the night....
last night was the full moon party, it was the craziest night and we saw some absolute sights.... we had to attend a compulsory bbq at our resort in order for us to stay there which was 15 pounds each- 3/4 quarters of our daily budget! however you could eat and drink as much as you wanted for 2 hours-stu was in heaven but i think we got drunk a bit too early. we headed down to the party to meet our friends Greg, Kaytie and carla, got painted in luminous paint and headed to a man selling hollowed out coconuts with vodka, malibu and pineapple ( so good.) You could hardly move on the beach, every one was dancing like they were "free spirits" and we were standing there a little bewildered!
I braved the toilets with kaytie and wish I hadnt, was the mosyt disgusting thing in the world, the seats were covered in poo and kaytie was gagging! lovely experience. carla became one of those annoying drunks and started insulting us-shes australian and was saying that the 4 of us (who were all english) dont drink fast enough for her.
we danced around and you drink alcohol out of beach buckets and about 3ish we headed to the quieter end of the beach. Quieter yes, but it was littered with people passed out on the sand so oblivious to anything going on around them. it was starting to get a bit dodgy by about 4ish because there was random thai men just wandering amongst the passed out people-obviously going to try to mug them so we headed home via the crepe stall which was doing a roaring trade!
we got to bed about 4.30, had about 4 hours sleep and had to check out by 12. our journey to khoa sok national park started by them ramming as many people into a mini bus as they could. every one had been at the party the night before and the roads on koh phagnan are very hilly and windy so a few people had their heads in their hands!!! we got to the boat 5 minutes before it was due to leave. the boat was hilarious it was full of people like us sprawled out over the deck with their bags, some had come straight from the party! i went inside to look for a seat but had to settle for the floor so slept for a little bit underneath some seats amongst the thais where stu found me about an hour later!
the next part of the journey we get off the boat and no one tells you where to go so we're stranded in this car park with other back packers who also have no idea how theyre meant to be getting to the next part of journey. eventually a coach turns up late meaning we miss our connecting bus to the national park. the thai company we booked the coach trip with couldnt care less even when we told them it wasnt acceptable that the bus left without us and told us we have to stay in this town over night and we can get the bus at 6.30am tomorrow morning.
anyway ill let you know whether we get there or not!
