Ok so after I left off I have been up to lots of mischief. Yesterday we discovered that there were no buses running due to the public holiday. We had to get to Hollywood which is an hour from Anaheim so we decided to hire a car. We got a mazda 6 and I drove! It was a little daunting getting onto the massive 5 laned freeway on the wrong side of the road sitting in the wrong side of the car. Driving down sunset blvd was scary also with it been such a big street with somedifferent rules. We had to do a few u-turns and we discovered that in LA you must turn right at a red light always. My first (well first since I was a last here at 12) impressions of hollywood is that it was seedy. Real seedy. We were staying in this motor hotel on sunset which was a dive. It was clean but it felt like it belonged on a highway. Very shady people. Braidy, another girl from the tour met us at the motel and we walked down sunset looking for shops. We stopped at in and out burger (the place where Britney got papparazeed with the baby on her lap coming out of the drivethru) and it was GOOD. The burgers were really nice. This was the second meal in America and both times I had a cheeseburger, Im so bad. I had vegemite on toast for breaki tho which was nice. After our burgers we walked around for at least an hour finding pretty much nothing except fast food. Eventually we started walking over the stars with names, and decided to follow them knowing they would lead us to The chinese theatre (MANN"S Chinese Theatre) and we followed the walk of fame for quite a while and finally started seeing the big names. I got some good photos so I'll have to post them when I finally get to a net cafe. Cant do it on this computer. Then we went into Hollwood and Vine which we found has great shops with cheap prices. I bought a few things including a cool dress (Ed Hardy). As we made it to the top level we looked out over the balcony and found the hollywood sign looking back at us so that was cool. The Hollywood and Vine is beautiful, wait for photos. Then we were thirsty and wanted cocktails so we walked into this cool bar on the top level. There were puter screens in front of each chair and we were told to order we just browse thru with the touch screen and when we find something we like we press it and type in our names to order. We ordered cocktails and watched her making them, they free pour and these drinks were potent! They were huge with prob about 250 or 300 mls of alcohol in them. Then the bar girl and guy stood and chatted to us for ages, meanwhile making us beautiful shots FREE OF CHARGE. They were telling us all the cool places to go out and what to do. When we got the bill they only charged us for the coktails which were so cheap, they didnt charge for all the other stuff they made us. When we left we were so drunk it was funny, we walked back to our motel, stopping at in and out burger joint again for a feed (I told u I was bad) and stopping at 7-11 for some wine (yes 7-11) to drink before going for dinner. We got ready and caught a cab up the street to Bar Marmont (the Chateau) where were got treated like royalty. The waitresses were all stunnningly beautiful, the bouncer was so damn goodlooking. He was an actor trying to make it. The bar is just gorgeous - dark and lots of atmosphere. I loved it. The service was just amazing, they make sure you feel special and it was fast and friendly. We met some rich kids who were buying bottles of verve cliqot like it was water (very expensive) we were mingling with everyone in that bar. Im sure they thought we were crazy but the accent is loved. At 3am one of the girls we met who was lovely, gave us a lift back to our seedy motel in her flashy BMW 4wd. The car talked to her when she turned it on it was a great car. How embarrasing when she dropped us off, she's like "why are you staying here?" Funny. She works for disney films. Cant really remember much else about the night, except for the bill which was quite large hehe. This morning we drove back to our Anaheim hotel, gave the car back and went to bed. I felt so sick and hungover that I slept till 3pm. This afternoon we just lounged around and went to Denny's diner for dinner. I finally have a room mate at this hotel, I've had the room to myself until now which was cool. The girl is from Belgium and is the prettiest sweetest little thing. She doesn't speak all that much English but she is so lovely. We took her to dinner with us and I think she was overwhelmed by our aussie chatting (fast and full of slang). Im about to crash for the night now as we have to be up by 6am as our tour leaves tomorrow bright and early. I'll keep you up to date as I go, hopefully I can put the photos up soon, I have some good ones! Bye!
