So today i went on a big bike ride down to the Huka Falls and across the Waikato river tot the Craters of the Moon.
The Huka Falls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huka_Falls) was the location of a murder that supposedly lost New Zealand its innocence. In February 1989, the month i was born a Cricket Umpire's body was found bound and gagged floating down stream of the falls. What resulted was an investigation that uncovered the secret world of the Aukland bondage scene, and the media jumped on the opportunity to report on all the sordid details. A dominatrix was later acquitted of the man's murder.
Anyway the Craters of the Moon are so called because the geothermal area looks somewhat like the surface of the moon because it is covered in craters from small geothermal explosions. The last major one was in 2002 when a crater erupted and covered the surrounding area in 5cm of ash. It is quite odd because there are random bits of steam appearing out of the ground.
Anyway I am now very tired and sore from cycling, so will love you and leave you and return to my hostel for dinner.
