Lovewells vs The World
Niagara Falls was awesome! It is something that you have to visit in real life to truly experience it. When we went on the boat, we got so close to the horseshoe falls that even if you were shouting it was hard to hear. We loved getting soaked through by the mist and bouncing over the churning water. The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is full of things to do, like a mini (and family friendly) Las Vegas. It is a bit bizarre that you just look across the river, and there is New York State. We had too much dinner at a restaurant that Overlooks the falls, then we cruised around the hundreds of souvenir shops. Afterwards we played mini golf. Mum and I did wizard golf indoors, in a glow in the dark place where even the carpet glowed. There was a cool stuff all the way through and the ball often disappeared and turned up somewhere else...spooky! We finished our trip by seeing the illumination of the falls, tame the fireworks over the falls. It was mesmerising. The falls are amazing anyway, but the lights transformed them and made them mystical. Overall Niagara Falls were amazing, and I wouldn't have missed it for anything, even though we arrived back at our hotel at 12 O-clock. It was the highlight of my trip (so far) and jam definitely going back. Gemma A giant bus came to the hotel to pick us up. Our tour guide told us lots of facts about Toronto on the journey. We stopped at a vineyard where they make ice wine. They use grapes that have to be frozen on the vine, it has to be at least -8° for 3 days and they pick the grapes at night, then they immediately crush them to get the juice to make the wine. I didn't try this but I did try red grape juice picked for the same vines (YUM!). And... Back on the bus to head to the whirlpools. It was huge, and a big speedboat came right up into the whirlpool and sat there spinning around and around. It was cool. The cable car wasn't working because of the darn you wind (sad face). And...back on the bus to ... Da da dum... Niagara Falls! It was an awesome place... And a wet one! We went on a boat and got drenched because we went a little to close to Niagara Falls and got the gigantic mist of Niagara Horseshoe Falls. The foam was as big as ice bergs and we had to toot the horn to get the annoying seagulls out of the way. But this place is not just waterfalls. There is lots of danger. I discovered that a seven year old boy who fell over the falls did survive! He had a boat accident but luckily was wearing a life jacket. When you see the falls it is hard to believe he survived. So please do not jump off the horseshoe falls. I took my dad to Dino golf (mum and Gemma did wizard golf). It was adventurous! Roaring dinosaurs, moving dinosaurs, and an exploding volcano! The volcano was not on the raptor run, it was on the T. rex tracks (there are 2 tracks of golf). 18 holes and I got a hole in one. I got a Niagara/Canada t shirt and a Niagara/Canada hat. After that it was dark and we heard a warning shot...the fireworks were coming! We saw the falls all lit up, and then the fireworks. There were swizlers and normal fireworks and also ones that made a cool noise wheeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiieeee!!! I loved it. And... Back on the bus... To sleep on the way back to Toronto (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz). Jenny Miller Great photo. We have one the same - so much mist it's hard to describe
Jenny Miller Gemma and Daniel thanks for a great blog post. It brought back lots of happy memories for me. Sounds much more commercial around it now than when we visited and it was the boat trip and that was pretty much it.
