So we've made it to the last leg of our Asian adventure - though Singapore is so civilized i don't feel it really counts! we don't need to dodge cars or filth in the streets and no men try to attract our attention by making that wierd kissing/teeth sucking noise - which is the foulest noise in the world and it still makes me shudder!
We managed to blag a couple of nights with a dutch family who is somehow related to chloe! They live in a lovely house in the expat area of singapore and we're making the most of the comfy beds and en-suit bathroom before heading off to more hostels!
Guess i should re-cap malaysia as i've been so lazy recently and forgot to do it! After KL and an epic Kanye West performance where we danced around to Kanye with all the malaysia locals we then made our way to the Cameron Highlands. There we did a couple of hikes - well i am lugging my boots around the world with me, i might as well put them to some use! Though all our hikes were a bit of a washout as we kept getting caught in monsoon type rain and having to take cover. At one point we were in the middle of the jungle and managed to run into a training course for government workers - and they fed us hot rice and tea! though later when we were heading back we heard a growl - definately a growl - and it freaked the hell out of us so we raced back through the rain. I've never moved so quickly in my life!
After the Cameron Highlands we headed to Taman Negara - the national park. Which was a really strange, sparse place that was made up of a handful of hostels and some river resturants in the middle of the park. We did a canopy walk, which was bloody scary at first but quite fun once you got use to swinging everywhere and i'd mastered the bounce walk! Also another hike there, but to be honest was feeling all hiked and trekked out by then so it wasn't as epic as the cameron highlands hikes!
Then we headed to Melaka, on the West coast, for a couple of days - and found a tescos! it was an amazing find - so we brought our food and cooked for the first time in Asia, which was delicious - but i'm sure the novelty of cooking for ourselves will soon wear off! Melaka was really nice - quite historical and quite incomparision to other towns/cities in malaysia, but a nice place to chill.
So now we're in singapore and on thursday we fly to Oz!
