We have had a great day, despite a long time in the car...we set out from Kingman along Route 66...and a bit of indulgence here fir any of the Sisterhood reading this blog..imagine it, cruising along Route 66 in theMustang Convertible , roof down, and James Taylor on the radio - You've Got A Friend- just perfect for me to think of you all- and then the next song is Venus!!! I tell you sisters, I had you all sitting there in the car with me when (and yes, this part is true too) a piece of tumbleweed rolls across the road in front of us...I was living the American roadtrip to the hilt!!!
After my sisterly memories we made it tithe Grand Canyon and had beautiful afternoon walking the Rim Trail ...and Grace and I had a great conversation about the Brady Bunch episode where they went down the canyon on mules, Bobby and Cindy got lost etc etc...even Andrew was blown away by the majesty of the place, despite telling me earlier in the car he was bored and it was just a 'big hole in the ground'!
A real American dinner again tonight...Andrew told me tonight all the meals taste the same..andI see his point ...I am giving up on ordering salads ..after four tries it is ALWAYS just some iceberg lettuce, a few giant croutons, some orange coloured grated cheese, the obligatory four pieces of red cabbage..and if lucky (as I was tonight) 2 cherry tomatoes ( never more, never less) !!
Having loads of fun, and I am really loving being with the kids 24/7...they are too funny!!
