Now for the highlight of the trip - our four night cruise on the Disney Dream.
This luxurious, barely a year old ship contains five restaurants, two cinemas, watersides, a theatre, mini golf, a beauty salon/spa, gym, bars, coffee shops.....oh, and an excellent kid's programme. Jealous yet? In case you are not, let me tell you that we went to The Bahamas.
Day 1, Sunday 15th January
We allowed ourselves plenty of time (it took about 1.5 hours to drive there from our villa at Davenport) to get to Port Canaveral - a little too much time, as it happened! We ended up waiting for an hour before they would allow us into the Terminal. For the record, a coffee shop would be a handy addition to Port Canaveral.
I'd done much of the paperwork online before we left Australia, so we had an early boarding time of 11:30am. That allowed us to get processed, organize wristbands for the Kids' Club (3-10 year olds) and get onboard where we ate lunch and the kids had a swim before the crowds in buses from the Disney Resorts and airport arrived. Suckers!
I will report on the food in more detail later - suffice to say, it was excellent and plentiful.
