Since the last blog we took a 26 hour bus journey to get us to Iguazu Falls but it was well worth the trip and buses in South America aren´t just your normal run of the mill buses (think fully reclining seats and 3 course meal on board!).
We had to cross the border into Argentina as our hostel was on that side but that was all fine but just meant we had to get another 3 buses which isn´t exactly a dream after spending 26 hours on one.
When we arrived at the hostel we almost walked straight back out again as we were convinced we´d got the wrong one...but no, apparently 8 pounds per night gets you a full resort hostel with a massive swimming pool (!) and log cabins to sleep in...good times!
The first day we visited the Argentinian side of the falls which was spectacular and we trekked all around the national park. We then went back to our palace and had an Argentinian barbeque organised by the hostel with some very dodgy entertainment. Met some great people so chilled out by the pool with them. The following day we went to the Brazilian side but as soon as we got there we realised it wasn´t going to be quite as simple as the Argentinian side. We had to queue in the most complicated queuing system known to man for about 2 hours to even get into the park and unfortunately we were spoiled by the previous day because the Brazilian side is nowhere near as breath-taking as the Argentinian side.
The next day we checked out but were allowed to stay around the pool all day because our bus to Buenos Aires wasn´t until 4.30pm. Another 20 hour bus journey brought us to Buenos Aires where we now are.
Our hostel seems to be very much the ´party hostel´so we haven´t seen a great deal of the city so far but we have 6 days here so there´s plenty of time. The first night we ended up at a drum and bass club and then last night we went out with the two lovely Norweigan girls that we´re sharing our dorm with to have a proper Argentinian steak and then for a tango lesson (just your thing mum haha).
Today we plan to go to La Boca and Recoleta and then back to the hostel for a party tonight. Will write soon, hope everyone is well x
