Today I made the biggest step in starting my travels. I told my manager I will be leaving in November and demoted myself to a mere Team Leader so I can be paid hourly and rack up those hours.

Rob has been asked by his manager whether he is coming with me, he has said he isn't. If he admits to coming then he won't get what he wants out of the company and will lose his mind.

The saving is up to £3200. Still haven't bought a flight yet, but found a bargain on STA for £463 and some change. One way LHR to Melbourne, that's all we need! We have decided on November 29th or thereabouts will be our departure date, there is just a HELL of a lot of saving and planning to do between now and then.

I started this blog today as we live in one of the best cities in the world and I feel it would be wrong to leave it out. I have, after all, done everything from a duck boat tour to watching the Royal Wedding religiously. The one thing I won't miss about London is the Olympics next year, I'm very glad I'll be over the other side of the world!
