So... Dando's hand had to operated on!

We returned from our Hen and Stag weekends (which were brilliant!) & Dando went to see the Hand Specialist Dr and had an X-ray, which showed that his knuckle had healed in the completely WRONG place!! The Dr advised he needed to be operated on immediately and scheduled his surgery for the next day. AAAAH!

As you can imagine, this was not nice! We were really worried about his hand and received very little info about what would happen and found out this could of been because he missed an Dr's appointment and xray earlier in his treatment that the hospital did not arrange.

The surgery went well, the surgeon advised Dando that she was very pleased that she managed to place wires in his hand so his hand can re set in the right place. We were pretty annoyed and upset that Dando had to have surgery as it felt to us that he went back 2 & half weeks in his recovery and the wedding /honeymoon is getting closer and closer!

The Physio advised us not to go on honeymoon, as he needs physio weekly now and being away for 5 weeks could be detremental to his long term recovery. This was pretty stressful to hear as we are so excited about going away. But Dando decided he can do all of the exercises the Physio's ask while we are away. The Physio understood and has advised she will give him a plan to follow while we are away. ( Oh no we might have to take it easy on a beach some where!)

In the meantime, having seen the Dr again and having a week off from work Dando is making a brilliant recovery. The Dr advised that the surgery went well and the wires are in the correct place and he is happy for them to come out in 3 weeks which is the shortest time frame discussed. Meaning the wires will be removed 3 weeks before the wedding and honeymoon! We were delighted to hear that and we both are feeling much better about it all now - knowing the end is in sight! Dando also saw the physio again this week and has been told he has more mobility in his hand at the moment than they would have expected which is very positive news too.

So after a very stressful few weeks we are feeling much better again now and are back looking forward to the wedding and honeymoon, which are only 5 weeks away now! xxxx
