Hi,
The jouney to Sucre was very quick (a little too quick if you ask me!! I was sat in the front seat and was constantly using my imaginery brakes!!). Anyway we got here safe and sound, then went for a quick tour around the town followed by lunch at a German cafe.
After lunch Kate and I went to a museum showing local textiles which was quite interesting.
The next day I got up early to catch the dino bus out to see the dino footprints. Unfortunately the first bus had been cancelled so I had to wait until 12. However this cçgave me time to go to the post office and send another package home (this involved filling out lots of forms which were all written in Spanish, so fingers crossed my parcel makes it home!!), and some postcards. I also had a nice coffee and apple pie (yum!!).
The dino place was not what I expected. It was a brand new establishment situated next to a cement factory! Apparently whilst quarrying for cement materials the workers came across the foot prints. Luckily the area which contains the footprints was full of mercury otherwise the footprints would now be cement!! Bascially the dino place contained nice gardens with sculptures of dinosaurs all over the place. Apparently I have now seen the bigest dino sculpture in the world (wow!!).
Yesterday afternoon I just chilled out after lunch because we were having a big night out to say goodbye to Kate. It was a good night out. At dinner I discovered mojitos - a very yummy cocktail. After dinner we went to a local night club (the one we actually wanted to go to was closed so we first went to the one down the road). I think we created quite a comotion there. It wasn't the type of place the foreigners went to - but at 30p entry fee and 50p for a large bottle of beer who were we to complain!! Certainly we gave the Bolivians a run for their money on the dance floor!! In fact the next place we went to (also 30p entry) we were the first up on the dance floor, only to be followed a few minutes later by the locals. All in all it was a good night out.
Today we are catching a flight to Santa Cruz, then tommorrow we catch an overnight train to Brazil (where the weather should be hot and the altitude low!!!).
Thats it for now,
Louise x.
