Hello!
The town of 1770 was a cool little place, best thing about it being the hostel cool bananas. it was such a nicely run place, felt like you were staying at a friends house. We didnt do much here, just chilled on the beach and then watched some movies in the evening, total chill out town.
We then went to hervey bay which i was expecting to be a party town like airlie, but totally not. People come here just to visit fraser and then leave really. Everything is too scattered for it to be a fun place, so we just had a drink at our hostel the first night. We got put into a group of 11 people to do our self drive tour to fraser island, unfortunately we got put with quite a dull group which made the whole thing not as fun as it could have been. add to that the fact it poured with rain the first night and the tents all leaked, the next day we walked along the beach for 20 mins in torrential rain and got drenched again (this is happening too often now for my liking!), then had to sit in our car for 2 hours as the tides meant we were trapped and you can see how much of a good time we had!
Luckily the 3rd day made up for it as it was gorgeous weather and we went to beautiful lake mackenzie. Crystal clear water and white sands, total paradise. I swam across the lake which was brilliant as i have missed my swimming. I was expecting there to be more to do on the island but there isnt that much to occupy you for 3 days, 2 would have been enough.
The other good thing was driving the 4wd along the beach. So much fun and totally different experience. off the beach on the sandy tracks was also fun when you were the driver but sitting in the back bumping along was interesting!
Back off fraser we spent another night in hervey bay but everyone was knackered from getting up at 6am both days so had a very early night.
We are now in noosa which is a gorgeous little town. Went to australia zoo today and you guessed it, it poured with rain for the 6 hours straight we were there. Not just a little shower but torrential rain all day. We had to walk around getting drenched as we had to see all the crocs and watch the show etc. it was good seeing everything but just a shame it wasnt sunny. This is supposed to be the sunshine coast! What a joke!Have just about dried out now. Will put some photos up soon.
Having a surf lesson tomorrow and then off to brisbane for 3 nights.
Hope you are all ok
