So we have just returned to cairns from a trip up to cape tribulation. This is a gorgeous place where the rainforest meets the reef, one of the only places in the world where there are two world heritage sites next to each other. We took a bus trip up there, stopped to go on a few walks through the rainforest, got absolutely drenched, i now understand why its called a rainforest! and got about 30 insect bites on my legs, bloody insects, i havent stopped scratching for days!
There was a gorgeous secluded beach which was deserted, so we went for a nice walk along there. We probably didnt need 3 days up there as we were quite bored by the second day as there is literally nowhere to go. The hostel is in the middle of nowhere and there is like one shop to go in. We did get to play volleyball in the pool with some poeple we met which was cool.
Back in cairns we had our last night at the woolshed yesterday. Alex obviously had a good night as he rolled in at 6.30 this morning, have yet to find out where he went as he is not in a good state this morning!
Have booked our greyhound ticket out of here, heading to mission beach tonight. Will be sad to leave as i have quite enjoyed Cairns.
