Greetings from New Zealand!!!
Well we're finally in The Shire, ready to find some fellow hobbits! The last two days in Sydney have been lovely and we were really sad to say goodbye today. Last night on the way home from a picnic/sunbathing (beneath bats!!) in the Botanical Gardens, we came across a a procession along the main streets for the Chinese New Year. There were floats and lanterns and beautiful chinese dragons - it was a real treat and a lovely end to our time in Australia (they really shouldn't have gone to all that effort for us! )
We arrived in New Zealand this afternoon - I was a bit annoyed that we didn't have a window seat as the view looked fantastic...oh well, hopefully on the flight to Queenstown we'll get to take some pics of the views... Christchurch has a real British feel It has a river with punting and normal "boring" ducks and we had tea at an Irish pub! :D The locals are really friendly though and we've already been given a free lift across the city by a helpful off-duty shuttle bus driver who noticed we were walking the wrong way! Just looking into booking a flight to Queenstown for wednesday as we have been told that it is stunning there AND we get to do skydiving and stuff! :) I'm just eager to start seeing the stunning scenery and feel like we really are the other side of the world and not just in Poole!
No more news now...love to you all xxx

Sally Bell (Oakley as was) Hi Vic, Sal Here, I have just been reading your blog and am very jealous and nostalgic! Me and Ell were only looking at our photos and videos of bungy jumping and paragluiding in Queenstown last night?? Queenstown is amazing we loved it, so much to do. Make sure you go up the big hill/mountain on the gondolas and do tandem parasailing it is awesome. We did it with G Force Paragluiding. We aslo did the Kawarau Bridge Bungy (47m) which is just outsdie Queenstown that was also wicked. Make sure you pay the extra and get the videos because it is so worth it to look back at. Anyway have a great time. P.S if you get time, try to go to one of the Glaciers on the West coast, we went to Franz Josef Glacier. It was amazing you don't have to pay for a guided tour you can just walk up the valley yourself for free and walk right up to it. It is the weirdest thing!
