Our 3 day adventure to the rock began with an early wake up call for our 6 hour drive. After picking up the swags on the way we headed straight for uluru national park to gain an understanding of the aboriginal culture. After a brisk walk round the base of the rock we headed to a good area to watch sunset.
We were on the cheapest trip available that meant we slept in the bush, in swags, with no toilets, showers or running water! Apart from the freezing nights we enjoyed our time star gazing and laughs round the camp fire.
Day 2, after watching sunrise we headed to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) where we trekked for 9km. Following this we headed back to the rock for a guided tour on aboriginal rock art.
Day 3 we ventured to Kings Canyon for a walk up Heart Attack hill and a walk around the top of the Canyon which had some astonishing views. Once exhausted it was time to sleep on the bus back to Alice...!
