Day Nineteen
Long driving day to San Diego, most people slept most of the way as I think Vegas had worn us out.
Arrived in San Diego about 5 because the traffic had been quite bad, we set up camp and then went for a quick tour of the city. We went up to the war memorial where you could get a great view over the city, harbour and beaches. Went down to see the world war II aircraft carrier which was huge and the big statue of the sailor returning and kissing a girl. Drove around the gaslamp area of town for a while before heading back to camp where Glaze prepared his homemade burgers.
Alex, Glazes mate joined us for the evening and we played cards and drank our remaining beers.
After going to bed the three of us in our tent were in hysterics for about an hour and could not stop laughing as you would of thought we were camping on the main road from the traffic noise in the campsite, not on the beach like we were - I nearly choked and Wayne joined in our conversation as usual, we're really going to miss these guys.
Day Twenty
We had the morning to explore San Diego, Sandy, Wayne and us two went for a coffee at a little place. We were looking for somwhere for ages and stumbles across a little place with bags of charachter - turns out it was owned and run by two women from the North East. We were sat in the cafe part laughing (rather loudly) at all the books they had about been twins.... and taking the micky out of some of the more extreme pictures of identicle twins. Yes you guessed it the ladies were not just sisters and had probably heard everything we said!!
We wandered around the Gas Lamp district for a bit and down to the harbour. Carston went on the aircraft carrier and han and ann went off by themselves.
The last journey of the trip was returning to LA where we were camping in Glazes garden for the last night.
We shopped at the local mexican deli for meat for the BBQ and stocked up on more beers including 40's- huge bottles of bud.
Before starting the beers Glaze gave people rides around the estate on his bike, I decided to have a go and it was pretty good. Chilled out in the back garden with everyone including Glaze's mum and brother Noah and his mates Carson, Conrad, Marty, Jarad, and a few more that I cannot remember the names of unfortunately.
Enjoyed great food and company and of course a number of beers before we headed to the Chalet bar in Conrads truck.
The three Brits as we are called(inc Wayne) enjoyed the juke box here as there was loads of our type of music on there for once. The bouncer was a scouser - couldn't believe it, they get everywhere!
On the way back from the bar we picked up a chilli burger and another pack of beers before walking back stopping at the High School Stadium to drink our beers and take photos- it was like something you see on a film.
Crashed in the house as no one wanted to sleep in their tents.
Last day
After breakfast at a local cafe we got dropped off at Universal studios where we went on the following rides, Jurassic park, the Mummy, back to the future and shrek. We also did the behind the scenes tour that was really good. Ate pretzels and waited to be picked up for the last time in the bus, it was really sad!
Went back to Glaze's house to get our things and couldn't believe that he was flying to Texas the next day to start another tour - the poor guy didn't get a single day off!! Some group were refusing to get on the bus with their tour guy so he was been sent in to sort it all out - he really was a fantastic guide and he made America for us.
After been dropped off at the Hasiender hotel where we had started our trip three weeks ago (feels much longer!) us Brits went for the last supper at a diner close by, it was really nice and we were ready for the last leg of the journey -our flight to new york the following morning.
