Well anyways, today me, my studypartner J, my hostess Eileen and her friend Judy went on a roadtrip to Dorchester. It took us about 20 minutes to get there from Abingdon, so it's not that far away. Eileen was very keen on showing us the places where they film the Midsomer Murders episodes in Dorchester. We went on a stroll around the small town and went in to the Dorchester Abbey, which is a really beautiful old church from the middle of the 1200-century. The had a memorial plate of Winston Churchill in there. Cool!!!
Eileen pointed out all the different spots which have been seen on the Midsomer Murders while we were walking. Really exciting! I really have start following that series when I get back to Finland.
Anyways, after we had had a look at the Abbey, we went for 3 o'clock tea in the church hall. There was this two tables with about 15 people all in all sitting around them and drinking tea and eating cakes. Really britishish if you know what I mean!? :) There were a lot of old, old ladies there. The oldest one wast 89 years old and still drove her car every sunday to the church!! Blamey!
Anyways, both Eileen and her friend Judith has starred in many theatrical plays on stage and on film aswell. Eileen has starred with among other Anthony Hopkins and of course in the Midsomer Murders aswell as Coronation Street and have had quite big roles aswell! ;)
