Well what can I say its been an eventful few days since arrival..after being picked up at the airport by a friendly African chap named Baba we were taken to our - 5* accomodation (often no electricity and we shower using a bucket) in a small shanti village called Ayeniah, this where we will be based for the next month.
I will leave the quality of accomodation to your imagination because we cant upload any of our hilarious pictures just yet! To help you along just visualise those trailers of Africa on Comic Relief and you will be pretty close!
Working in the orphonage has been amazing, we get to work as teaching assistants in the morning and then play sport and games with the kids in the afternoon. They are full of energy and excitement most caused by the fact we are probably only the fifth or six white people they have ever seen (yes it is that remote, we're like celebrities!!!!
We have the weekend off so we have travelled to the capital city (Accra) for some much needed air conditioning (its over 100degrees at night) and western food, there is only so much rice you can eat!!!
All in all its been an amazing experience thus far and I can only assume it will get better and better!!
Hope everyone is ok at home speak soon
