And we're off!
We were up early at 2.00am saturday morning to head down to the London olympics, and what a super Saturday it turned out to be!
We watched the women's triathlon in Hyde park with thousands of enthusiastic supporters. The atmosphere was incredible especially when Helen Jenkins (team GB) took the lead and was contesting for a medal! However, during the final lap she fell back to fifth which is where she finished the race. It was unbelievable how quick the athletes swam, cycled and ran, it was great to be so close to the action.
We then made our way over to the large screens that were set up in Hyde park to soak up the olympic spirit. Whilst we were there we managed to meet up with Some of Stef's family and (Sir) Bradley Wiggins! We were lucky enough to see team GB win lots of gold medals. The cheers of joy and encouragement were exhilarating! It was great to sing the national anthem with thousands of passionate Supporters!
With love
Stef and lorna
