House boat!
Today we spent the day & night on a luxury house boat. It was so tranquil as we peacefully floated down a network of palm tree lined canals. We had our own boat, captain, helper & chef! The food was the best we have had so far so tasty. It was fabulous to relax in the sun as we floated along in paradise!
It was such a relaxing experience & I got snap happy as there were many traditional sights to be seen!
As well as rows of palm trees there were also communities living along side the river. The river is their life line, they use it to wash themselves, for cleaning clothes, cleaning pots & as cooking water. But what really struck me about the people is how happy they are. They live in tiny corrugated iron huts with their whole family, conditions we would consider to be poverty, but yet they are full of smiles.
In fact the whole of India seems to be this way. So far the families I have had the pleasure to meet have been so welcoming, friendly & generous. They don't wish for more, just health & safety. I also love the fact that the families are such strong units here, it would be unheard of for grandparents to be sent to a home to live alone away from loved ones. It makes you think.
India has such an enchanting charm. It's loud, bright & in your face but yet welcoming & thought provoking. I think we have all fallen for this diverse country, I don't think there is anywhere else in the world like this. It's like a wave you just have to smile & go with it...
Lots of love xxxx
