Good Evening,

its 8pm over here and Sam and I are sooooooo exhausted! All this travelling really takes it out of you!!!! We made it to Surfers paradise on Thursday, although I didnt think we were going to make it as I had such a throbbing head from the night before!!!. For those of you that have travelled, you will I am sure have experienced the "Goon", which is really really cheap, yucky wine! Which apparently contains milk and fish eggs, but I think thats just a myth?!!!! The bus Journey on Thursday was AWFUL!!!! But we had a great night out in Byron for our last night out. I am going to miss that place, its a shame we couldnt have stayed longer. It was really sad when we were there though, a girl who was staying where we were, got caught in the current while she was swimming in the sea, and drowned! It was awful, they were looking for her all night and the next morning. The poor girl, she was swimming with 2 of her friends and she just got swept right out apparently. We saw it on the news ;-( The sea here on the east coast is really dangerous and you can only go in where there are lifeguards and flags up, its really strong!!!! But on a brighter note ( sorry for such a savage story there), Byron was great and I wanna go back already ;-)

So we got to Surfers on Thursday and ended up sleeping for most of the day, we were a little worse for wear!!!! Its a great city although what we had heard was pretty much right, its full of hotels, everywhere you look, theres hotels, and so many high rise buildings its untrue. Really crowded and touristy but hey, we still had a fab time.

We stayed at this cool place called the Sleepers Inn, it was cheap and the rooms were clean!!!! ( I have a really big issue about that now after our bad expereince in Melbourne) There were 12 girls in our shared dorm, and everyone was actually boring and quiet ;-) Nobody was talking to each other so me being me, went straight into the living room and introduced myslef, and then still nobody said anything...... so I gave up! Some people hey, thats the best bit about travelling mefor me, meeting all these new people!!! But our actual room mates were really nice, a canadian girl and a Swedish girl. We were in bed by 10pm on Thursday night, a record for us!!!!! Friday we just lounged about on the beach, it was a gorgeous day, but then at about 3pm there was this big sand storm so we headed back to our hostel. Oh yeah and we were really worried as Sam and I were just lying on the beach and then we saw these random guys taking photos of us!!!!!! They were in this strange uniform and it was all so bizzare!!!! So we just ignored them and they started taking photos of other girls!!!! Freaky or what, I think eventually somebody told one of the lifeguards!!!!! We went to a bbq at our hostel Friday night, $5 all you can eat, and my god did we need it. Sam and I have spent far too money so we had a good feed which should last us quite a while ;-) ( We even had to have cereal for our dinner tonight, yes we are poor, please feel sorry for us) The nightlife in Surfers is good, we went to this club called the Bedroom, great music.

So now we are in Brisbane, we arrived this afternoon and staying in a cool hostel. Its a proper hostel though, not like an apartment which we have been staying in lots ( The apartments are the same price as the actual basic dorms, its odd) so we are sharing a room with 4 other girls, they are from France and Germany, and we have this HUGE communal kitchen and living room which is cool!!!! We wont be doing much cooking though!!!! We spent the day just wandering around Brisbane, its really pretty, not too much to do, but we went to the manmade beach which is good fun!

We are only here2 nights, and tomorrow we are going to Australia Zoo, and we will hopefully get to see lots of crocs, and Koalas! I want to see a Koala sooooooo bad! They are just the cutest!!!! Then on Monday we are heading up to Hervey Bay, and staying there for 2 nights, before we start our camping adventure on Fraser Island.

Tom and Lynda- Wine over food everyday of the week ;-) Only kidding, but its sooooo cheap to eat cereal!!!! I cant believe how big and heavy you said Alfie is now?!!!! Thats crazy.

Dad and Angelika- I miss you both lots. Hope you sort the internet out soon.

Ben - How are you? Hows the back holding up? We have been sharing rooms with lots of Norwegians, one was called Ingrid!!! They are all so nice!

Clarence and bump, and John- I hope you are looking after yourselves!!!!!!!! I miss you. John we have been doing lots of late night raving, haha.

Martin, Amy and Esmé- Martin I need you here to carry my bag ;-) Its sooooooo heavy, its killing me. Please give Esmé a big smooch and lots of cuddles from me!!! She will be so big when I get back I am sure!!!
